About the Role
The Dart Container would like to hire a proficient and committed Field Support Technician (IT) to work in Waxahachie, TX. Under this full time on-site contract you will take care of the maintenance and support of all technology devices and IT assets within the facility – to ensure that all end-user workstations are optimally performing, all networked devices, as well as all other software systems.
You will be the first-line IT support, problem solver, who will be required to troubleshoot problems on the ground, over the phone, and through emails and will also be required to provide an excellent level of end-user support in a high-paced production facility.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and trouble shoot end-user workstation hardware and networked peripheral devices to corporate standard.
- Install and support workstations software and networking software products.
- On-site and remote PC hardware and software diagnosis, analysis, and resolution.
- Take and answer inbound calls and help desk tickets and emails on PC and hardware problems.
- Install and maintain mobile devices and allied mobile operating systems.
- Handle the minor structured repair of wiring and cable punch downs.
- Pass information on the status of tickets to the internal customers through email in a timely manner.
- Train and support end-users on computer usage and practices.
- Carry out a study on emerging computer products to facilitate the decisions made in the acquisition of hardware.
- Help with IT capacity planning and hardware strategy development on long-term basis.
- Keep proper records of the projects, work and time with the help of appropriate IT service management software.
- Record every single case of hardware failure, repair, installing and removing.
- Make sure that sensitive and proprietary company information is confidential.
- Observes the company software licensing policies and IT security practices.
- Adhere to all the safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED accepted).
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on computer support and IT help desk experience.
- Technical certification (CompTIA A+ or equivalent) or formal computer support training.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills — ability to explain technical solutions clearly to non-technical users.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with strong listening and questioning abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Professional demeanor when interacting with staff, management, and internal/external customers.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful or high-pressure situations.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
- English language proficiency for effective communication regarding safety and quality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Computer Support, Networking, or a related field.
- CompTIA A+ Certification (strongly preferred).
- Familiarity with desktop operating systems including Windows and macOS (OS X).
- Experience with mobile operating systems (iOS, Android).
- Prior IT support experience in both business office and plant/manufacturing environments.
