About the Role
As a Software Engineer at Gordon Food Service, you will design, develop, and improve software applications to meet the needs of users. You can help make operations more efficient by coming up with new programming and system improvements in a collaborative hybrid work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Make and change software programs or scripts according to coding standards and specifications.
- Use your knowledge of technologies like Angular, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, SQL, Google Cloud Platform, AI/ML, and Data Analytics, with a focus on test-driven development.
- Do a lot of research, review, and testing to make sure that solutions are correct and work as well as possible.
- Evaluate existing business systems to define scope and estimate tasks for resolving issues.
- Perform integrated system testing to verify reliability and functionality.
- Make software parts and make sure they are complete and of high quality.
- Fix software or system problems and find out what’s wrong.
- Lead formal code reviews to keep the quality and standards of the code high.
- Help with ongoing software maintenance, give technical support, and look at new requirements.
- Help with the design of graphical user interfaces and other parts of software.
- Do any other tasks that are given to you.
Required Skills
- You should be able to use one or more programming languages and know how to use operating systems and databases.
- Good at talking and writing.
- Good at organizing and solving problems.
- Ability to handle many tasks at once and work alone or with others.
- Willingness to try out new technologies and creative ways to solve problems.
- Being creative when coming up with solutions to tough problems that fit with the company’s goals.
Qualifications
You need a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field to be considered for this job.
